I went to my first Marianne Williamson “Course on Miracles” lecture last night. I had heard a lot about them from my friend Parker for a while but had yet to go since moving to LA. In case you don’t know- Marianne Williamson is a fierce spirituality writer/advocate/teacher/and super star. Her book “Course on Miracles” has been very popular for a few years and while...
Its Tuesday. And its so autumnal here in Los Angeles. I’m over the three cardigans I own and I sorta miss the ones I left in New York. Hoping I can get them shipped here this weekend. What fun is fall without a nice chunky Ben Sherman sweater with big buttons?
Feeling really unsettled this week. Stressed about the transition thats coming at me…. buying a car…. moving into a...

I love those Whoopi billboards. With her face. “For Colored Girls”. She looks so prayerful and true. One time I heard someone describe Whoopi as a witch. And I think thats such a perfect description. There’s something other worldly and mystical and magic about her. There are few folks like that. She is one of them.
There really isn’t a way of writing about this past...

Sometimes I wish I went to the gym so I could drink those Protein drinks. They look sorta tasty and a lot of them have peanut butter flavoring. Then yesterday I saw a very old woman buying a bunch of them at Trader Joe’s. Which, I guess, was some sort of sign from the universe that we can all do whatever the fuck we want.
This past weekend was so nice. It was dreary and cold and rainy...

Two weeks ago, I bought a twenty three year old car from a psychics husband.
Which sounds like the beginning of a bad episode of “Are You Afraid Of The Dark?”.
There are a lot of things that would make sense buying from a psychics husband…. baked goods…. eye of newt…. but a car…. an actual machine to get you around town…. maybe not.
But I did it...

My Mom and I used to watch “BeWitched BeWednesdays” every Wednesday night. I think it was our favorite of all the Block Party Summer shows on Nick At Nite. However, we’d usually find something else to watch when they tried to make “WKRP Cincinnati” a thing…. I don’t even remember what night that was on…. was it like “WKRP Mondays”? That...
I was watching a rerun of Jimmy Kimmel last night. Courteney Cox was the guest. She was plugging the premiere of “Cougar Town”. She couldn’t remember Jennifer Aniston’s guest character name and she agreed with the rest of the country that “Cougar Town” is a terrible title. A lot of people claim to be on the fence with Courtney Cox but I think you guys should...
I had a really swell weekend which has settled into a rainy Monday morning. I’m sitting the window at my favorite table at the nearby Coffee Bean watching people drive by on the shiny pavement and wondering what Goldie Hawn does on rainy days. I’d like to imagine she embraces them…. says…. HEY! How often do we get rainy days in Southern California?! Lets make a organic...
"Where does an old-style drag queen look for cues... →
I think that question is groovily powerful but about a lot more than drag and I think the answer is the often difficult to wrap one’s head around but abundantly clear: EVERY FUCKING WHERE. Looking forward instead of back, but with a respect and acknowledgement of what’s come before. I think thats what good drag is. And good living. Interesting article.
